May - Primped Mommy's Favorite Things

May 31, 2019

Another month, another list of favorite things... this time with a twist. You guys, today marks a year that Primped Mommy has been in existence. I am nearly at a loss for words! I am so grateful for everything this past year of blogging has taught me. For that very reason, this month's top 5 favorite things are lessons I've learned along my blogging journey and why I continue to keep up with it. Let's take a look back!

#5 Knowledge

One incredible thing about starting Primped Mommy is how much I have learned about the digital space in just one year. I mean thank goodness for Youtube and friends well versed in the digital space, they have helped me immensely. However, I have taught myself so many things ranging from SEO to building a website! I have always been a hands-on learner, but I had no idea the amount of work it takes to run a blog. Seems silly, but creating content, building a brand, and online presence takes time, dedication, and a lot of will power to keep going. There are so many minute details that run through a bloggers head, it's a pretty scary place, but we only show the pretty curated stuff like the pictures in this post, ha!

#4 Opportunity

There are so many positive things about being in the blogging space, but one of the best aspects is the endless opportunities to connect and work with brands and other influencers. Once you hone in on your niche market, you start to realize the digital space goes from this massive ocean to a rather tiny pond. BUT, magically there is still room for EVERYONE to win! If you can make yourself stand out, speak your truth, and let your light shine the opportunities will present themselves. Over the past year, I have been able to work with a handful of brands, and I am so thankful for those opportunities. I even became a contributing writer for the Orange County Moms Blog! When I first began on this journey, the idea of writing for other networks never even crossed my mind. Just goes to show what can happen when you allow different doors to close because another one will open.

#3 Creativity

Growing up, I was naturally curious, which lead me down a rather creative path. I was the kid who would scour yard sales for strange finds so that I could take things apart or re-purpose them for other uses. As the years came and went, I slowly got away from that crafty kid and became a serious corporate 9-5 career woman. Once I started Primped Mommy, it helped me to tap into that right brain, creative gal. It's so fun to get my daughter involved with making some fun DIYs too! There is still so much I want to share Good thing I don't plan on going anywhere anytime soon.

#2 Accomplishment

When things get tough, I typically throw in the towel and call it quits. It's not a trait that I like about myself, that's why when I decided to start Primped Mommy I committed that I would see this thing through until the 1-year mark. Here we are! WE made it. Thank you for joining me on this journey. This sense of accomplishment feeling incredible! I am so proud that I fought through the hard days, continued to push posts out, stuck through all the crazy Instagram algorithm changes, and made it to this day. I've only just scratched the surface and can't wait to see what lies ahead.

#1 Community

I am so proud of the community that has been cultivated thorough Primped Mommy. I owe all of this to YOU. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for riding this ride with me. Without you, there would be no Primped Mommy. I am forever indebted to you and all the love you have showered upon me over this past year. You might not know this, but this is the second blog that I have launched. My first blogging career was short-lived. I felt lost and had no idea what I was doing. I knew I had creative ideas and valuable things to share, but I didn't have a community. Now I have a beautiful community of like-minded mother hustlers who show me so much support, encouragement, and love. I am humbled by you and am incredibly grateful for every one of you.

THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for being a part of Primped Mommy and this amazing journey. Blogging has become a passion and I will continue to be the best version of myself and provide quality content for you! And, Happy 1st Birthday, Primped Mommy!

XO,

Amber
